We are so proud to call Ms. Meloni ours! Congratulations!!

🏆 Introducing your 2026 Leeds City Schools Teacher of the Year: Ms. Carla Meloni!

Today at the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, Mr. Moore made the official announcement, and we could not be more thrilled! 🌟

Ms. Meloni’s story is the definition of a lifelong calling. Since she was a young girl walking the halls of Leeds Elementary School, she knew she was meant to be an educator. Fast forward to today: she has spent 23 years shaping the minds of our littlest learners, with the last 8 years dedicated to our kindergarteners at Leeds Primary School.

Ms. Meloni is the embodiment of what it means to be a "Greenie". She is kind, intentional, steadfast, and a true servant leader to her students and their families.

From a Leeds student to our District Teacher of the Year—your legacy is officially legendary, Ms. Meloni! Thank you for pouring your heart into our community.

Can you believe this group is about to head to Leeds Elementary School?? Today, the 1st grade students hopped on the bus and took a tour of LES. The LES Peer Helpers served as the tour guides for the group. The students got to meet their new Principals, see the gym, lunchroom... and we even ran into some older siblings! The countdown is on until they are 2nd graders!

What an awesome day for LPS! ☀️Today was "May Day," and the energy was infectious.

For three years and counting, our amazing special education team has created a sensory-friendly environment where our students can just be themselves and have fun. This year, they were joined by some fantastic student helpers from across the halls of LPS!

A huge thank you to First Baptist Leeds for hosting us—we couldn’t have asked for a better space for such a special tradition.

Heads up - We will have ONE carline, all students together, at 1:00 pm today.

Due to the threat of inclement weather in our area, Leeds City Schools will dismiss at 1:00 pm Wednesday 5/6/26. Carline and buses will run at 1:00 pm. All After School Activities are canceled. After School Care families - you must pick your child up by 2pm. All LCS staff will leave at 2 pm.

Ms. Kubik’s Pre-K class celebrated Cinco de Mayo the best way possible: with homemade tortillas! 🌮 From dough to delicious, our students loved every second of this hands-on celebration.

📢 Breaking News: LPS Ducks Upgrade to Waterfront Property! 🌊🦆

The library was cozy, but these guys were ready for some room to roam! Our feathered friends have officially moved to a new outdoor habitat near the playground.

Amenities include:
✅ Prime location by Mrs. Pulliam’s door
✅ Frequent visitors from the playground 🛝
✅ Private luxury kiddie pool for maximum splashing 💦
✅ Daily "concierge" service back inside for bedtime 🌙

The students are having a blast watching them splash in their pool during recess. It’s safe to say these are the most popular residents on campus! 🎒💚
