Our LHS AgSci Sheep Show Team will conclude at the Big E and the students will have at least 7 maybe 8 market lambs for sale.

We already have processing dates for late September and you can find more details using the link below.

All proceeds go back to the students being able to raise more market lambs for next year and their show team moving forward.

Our FFA Chapter is excited to share that we have received the $3,000 National FFA Organization Living to Serve grant to help fight hunger in our community.

The students will be raising meat birds and laying hens to donate whole chicken and eggs to the Linda C Davis Food Pantry - Ledyard .

While we would love to offer beef again, we are kinda exhausted from those "olympic athlete fence jumpers" that we seemed to have had several years in a row.

We are thankful to our National Sponsors for this grant: Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, Cargill , Tractor Supply Co. , Co Bank, Ardent Mills, Corteva Agriscience, Elanco Pet Health h , Valent and Wilbur Ellis

The 2026-27 FFA officer team kicked off their summer training last week! Graduate and former FFA officer, Teagan, led them through several fun and engaging activities to work on communication, problem solving and collaborating skills. They identified key qualities of good leaders, evaluated their personality styles and then worked together to solve a challenging puzzle. They also set goals for themselves, their team and the chapter today and began working on this year’s POA. Off to a great start!

One of the many ways our students can stay engaged with the AgSci program throughout the summer is to attend or assist with our summer dog agility classes. Taught by a program graduate, we are offering both introductory and intermediate skilled classes this year. Dogs, owners and students are having a blast and learning what it takes to introduce new skills successfully. By the end of the summer courses we hope to have confident trainers and many agile canine students!

This weekend, 12 students took 11 sheep and two goats to the North Stonington Fair to show and boy did they have a great time showing and talking to the public about our Agri-Science Program as well as their training projects.

Even parents joined in for the Open Showmanship class!

One of our Agri-Science family's experienced a house fire last night where it was a total loss and we would like to assist them in any way possible.

TJ is an LHS AgSci Grad and is a member of our AgSci Advisory Board, Jenn is our Agri-Science Secretary who handles all of our 8th grade applications and schedules the interviews. Brooklynn is a Rising AgSci Senior and Thomas is a Rising AgSci Freshman.

If you are able to donate, Jenn has given permission to send it via her Venmo with her last four numbers being 1550.

Every little bit helps for this amazing family.
