After 34 rewarding years as an educator in Citrus County, it's time for the next chapter in my journey. My career has been a tapestry woven with the threads of dedication, passion, and a profound commitment to the students I've had the privilege to serve.
It all began at Crystal River Primary, where from 1990 to 2000, I embarked on the noble task of shaping young minds during their formative years. The laughter, curiosity, and eagerness of those early learners set the foundation for my career.
Transitioning to Lecanto Primary from 2000 to 2005, I continued my mission to inspire and empower students. Each day brought new challenges and triumphs, and I cherished the opportunity to contribute to their growth and development.
The final leg of my journey led me to Crystal River Middle, where I spent the last 19 years, from 2005 to 2024, mentoring adolescents on their path to adulthood. The middle school years are a pivotal time, and I'm honored to have played a role in guiding countless students through this transformative period.
Throughout my tenure, I've formed bonds with individuals from all walks of life within the school community. From cafeteria workers to bus drivers, custodians to teachers, and administrators, we all shared a common purpose: to support and nurture the children entrusted to our care. Together, we formed a tight-knit family, united by our dedication to the well-being and success of every student.
My involvement as a cross country and track coach at both Lecanto High and Crystal River High allowed me to extend my impact beyond the classroom. Coaching provided another avenue to instill values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, fostering not only athletic achievement but also personal growth.
Teaching isn't just about imparting knowledge; it's about building relationships and forging lasting friendships. Over the years, I've had the privilege of touching countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on students, colleagues, and community members alike.
And as I embark on this new chapter, I carry with me the memories, lessons, and connections that have enriched my career. Once you have me, it's for a lifetime, because the bonds formed in the pursuit of education endure long after the final bell rings.
