Our neighbors and union siblings at Albany are facing gut-wrenching cuts to their schools. ✊💔

Proposed reductions include:
📚 25 Certified Positions
🚌 25 Classified Positions

That’s canceled bus routes.
That’s reading specialists.
That’s instructional assistants helping kids learn to read.
That’s support staff, intervention teams, and trusted adults students rely on every single day.

These cuts impact REAL people and REAL kids. In classrooms in OUR communities.

Join them TODAY 📆 at 6:00 PM ⏰ at the Greater Albany Public Schools District Office 🏫 to stand in solidarity with students, educators, and public education. ❤️

Stand up. Fight back. Support our schools. ✊

LEA is proud to support Lebanon Teacher Deanna Varner (Chambers) in her run for the GAPS School Board.

Hello All,
My name is Deanna Varner. I am a long-time Lebanon teacher. You may know me by my professional name, Deanna Chambers. I have worked in Lebanon for over 30 years, teaching every grade level from pre-first (at Waterloo) to college (LBCC). I currently work at LHS teaching French. I am asking you, my colleagues and fellow union members who also live in Albany for support in my campaign for GAPS school board zone 1. I am running because I know education. I know students. I know what works and what can be improved. I have the depth of knowledge and the breadth of experience to offer a balanced, truthful perspective at the board level. I also have ideas and the vision to bring the Albany community together by putting students at the center of every decision and act.

I need your help. I need to get the word out about me and about my vision. I have worked with and alongside many of you. I want you to know that I believe in the power of public education, that I am an unwavering advocate for all students, for educators. and I believe that we can best support students by supporting educators. If you can help, please contact me at [email protected] or text me at 541-990-3484.

I see you. I appreciate you. Together we are Albany Strong!

Warmly,

Deanna Varner
