🚌 HALL OF FAME CAREER! 🤩

We send our biggest and best congrats to WCS bus driver Mrs. Frances Theiring for being inducted into the Tennessee Association of Pupil Transportation’s (TAPT) Bus Driver Hall of Fame!

It happened earlier this week during TAPT’s annual meeting and HOF ceremony in Pigeon Forge.

Set to retire at the end of this month, Mrs. Theiring drove a school bus for nearly 50 years! She’s a wonderful lady and we wish her the absolute best, and celebrate with her on receiving this amazing honor!

We also want to recognize and remember the late great Mr. David Wright, who was also inducted into TAPT’s Hall of Fame in 2017. He and Mrs. Theiring are our two HOF members from Wilson County.

They amassed close to 100 years of bus driving experience combined. Wow! 👀

📖 HELPFUL SUMMER TIPS! 📚

Thank you to WKRN News 2 for recently inviting Rutland Elementary Principal Shaunna Davis to join them for their WKRN+ programming! 🎙️

The topic was “Avoiding the Summer Learning Slump” and ways families can keep their students engaged in learning throughout the summer months. 🤔

Mrs. Davis is definitely a great person to get feedback from! She’s an award winning administrator that oversees an annually award winning school. 🤩

She talked about several things students could do, but a few of the key important points were:

1. Set time aside several times a week to read. It can’t be said enough how important that is! 💯

2. Explore activities & reading programs at local libraries. 📚

3. Try to keep screen time limited.📱🎮💻

4. Helping with measurements in recipes can be a fun math-related activity too! 🍪🥠

Great tips!
