School Board meetings are a great way to stay connected and informed about the work happening across our schools. We welcome our families, staff, students, and community members to attend and be part of the conversation.

Investing in Our Teachers. Strengthening Literacy. Supporting Students.

Our LCSD staff recently had the opportunity to learn with Barbara Steinberg, a nationally recognized literacy expert, educator, and consultant who specializes in the Science of Reading, dyslexia, and evidence-based literacy instruction.

Our K–2 teachers, along with Title and Special Education staff and building principals, kicked off this important professional learning focused on strengthening the knowledge and instructional practices that help students become confident, successful readers.

And this is just the beginning! Throughout the year, all K–5 teachers, as well as our 6–8 teachers, will have opportunities to participate in Science of Reading training with Barbara.

We are also grateful that the majority of this professional learning is being funded through our Early Literacy Success Initiative grant allowing us to make a significant investment in our staff while maximizing resources dedicated specifically to improving teaching and learning.

Practicing Today. Preparing for Tomorrow.

Hamilton Creek recently partnered with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department, and Sweet Home Police Department to conduct a coordinated lockdown drill.

These drills give our school staff and local law enforcement agencies an important opportunity to practice together, strengthen communication, and make sure everyone understands their role in an emergency. By working side by side before an emergency occurs, we can be better prepared to respond with confidence and coordination when it matters most.

We are grateful for the strong partnership of our local law enforcement agencies and their continued commitment to the safety of our students and staff.

Stadium Progress

There is a lot happening at Warrior Track and Field, and we are excited about the progress being made!

Home-side Improvements – The former visitor side has been updated and is currently serving as the home side while we work toward a new stadium structure. This includes the new press box built largely in-house by our talented LCSD staff, with support from community partners and donors.

New stadium – We are currently gathering bids for a new structure to replace the former grandstand and restore permanent seating on the traditional home side. This process will help us better understand costs and options as we determine the best path forward.

Concessions & Restrooms – The District is planning to construct new facilities as part of the overall stadium improvements.

Fundraising Partnership – We are working with the Lebanon Booster Club to determine the best approach for an effective community fundraising campaign to help make the new stadium structure a reality. More information will be coming as those plans develop!

We are incredibly grateful for the support already received from T-Mobile, Weyerhaeuser, and other community partners and donors. Their contributions, along with the work of our own staff, have helped us make significant progress.

There is still more work ahead, and it will take continued partnership to bring the full vision for a new stadium to life. We are excited about the momentum and look forward to sharing the next steps with our community.
