Day 6 ended the week, we started the morning with the Missouri recognition ceremony. Jenna placed 4th in Impromptu Speaking and received a Bronze rating for her STAR Event in Teach and Train. Blake finished just out of the top 10 in Interview Skills. We are so very proud of both of them and what they accomplished and very excited about this next school year.
We finished the day in D.C. by visiting Arlington Cemetery and watching the changing of the guards, for me it is always a humbling experience to see.
We boarded our flight and made it back to St. Louis in between storms and we all home around midnight.

Day 5 started with several thousand FCCLA members attending a Rally at Capitol Hill. We were joined by an awesome small drum line and the mascots from the Washington Nationals. We then walked over to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. After a quick bite for lunch we were given a tour by Senator Josh Hawley's aides and were even able to sit in the Senate Gallery. After that we walked over to the Library of Congress and those of us over the age of 16 were able to get our Library Card for it.
We finished up the evening with pizza and a movie (just have to watch National Treasure when your in DC). Tomorrow we will pack up and attend the recognition ceremonies and possiblya littlemore site seeing before we head home. Its been an awesome trip, we have put in a lot of steps, found a lot of gift stores and we are starting to get the Metro down.

Day 4 was a little slower and several less steps than the past coupleofdays. We spend the day at the Convention Center with Jenna and Blake attending some Leadership sessions and Youth Workshops, and Jenna competed in her STAR Event.
We then did a little pin trading, while we are all still missing several states we have a lot of neat ones.
Tomorrow we will attend a Rally at Capitol Hill and tour the Capitol with Senator Josh Hawley's office (thanks to Jenna scheduling a visit).

Day 3 is the books with lots of steps taken. We started the day at the Convention Center adding some FCCLA gear to our collection, trading pins and visiting with some amazing vendors that had some great Service Project ideas. We then headed out to see the White House, U.S. Treasury Building, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool. We also stopped at the WWII Memorial and the Vietnam Wall.
This evening we went to a Nationals Baseball Game with FCCLA (they lost unfortunately) and enjoyed some sweet treats.
Tomorrow Jenna competes in her STAR Event Teach and Train and they both will be attending several Leadership Sessions.
