Field Day 2026 was a success!

This year, WCARA and Warren County AuxComm operated for approximately 7 hours and had about 25 people attend our event.

Together, we submitted a score of 1,632 points, including 870 bonus points and 816 QSO points.

In total, we made 607 QSOs:

38 CW contacts, using Morse code
171 digital contacts, using FT8 and FT4
398 phone contacts, using SSB voice
2 satellite contacts

We operated our stations from battery power for the event and found that we had no shortage of power available. That is an important part of Field Day, because this event is not just about making contacts. It gives us an opportunity to practice setting up and operating in field conditions, test our equipment, improve our skills, and prepare for emergency communications situations where normal systems may not be available.

Of course, Field Day is also about enjoying the amateur radio hobby and the fellowship that comes with it. We had great food, snacks, and desserts, and no one went hungry. More importantly, we had the chance to spend time together, learn from each other, and share the fun of radio with both experienced operators and those who are newer to the hobby.

The success of these events comes from a great collaboration of members who step up, work together, and take on the many tasks needed to make Field Day happen. Thank you to everyone who helped plan, set up, operate, cook, clean up, support, and attend.

We are proud of what we accomplished together and are already looking forward to the next one!
