Meet our instructors for this summer!
Emily Kampen—our farm camp’s lead teacher and resident curiosity champion! With 10+ years working with children and a background in permaculture, organic farming, and education (from France to St. Louis!), Emily blends heart, humor, and hands-on learning in everything she does. With farming in her blood and a deep love of dirt, she’s here to help kids explore, connect, and grow—muddy feet and all.

Anna Maria Desipris - Sun and Bloom’s co-founder. A farmer, beekeeper, herbalist, and educator for the last 10+ years. Working with families, children, and adults in farming, horticulture, culinary arts, and food systems. Anna Maria is also a mother, bringing her love for children and farm together to create a harmonious space for learning and fun.

Lucian Toma - Sun and Bloom’s other co-founder. Permaculture designer, farmer, educator, and community galvanizer for the last 10+ years. Facilitating trainings in food security, composting, food waste reduction, permaculture design, soil health and more. Lucian’s hard work as lead farmer at Sun and Bloom makes many of the programming aspects possible for us to host Farm Camp!

🌸 Farm Camp at Sun and Bloom Farms 🌸

Our farm was started with a mission to grow food but to also provide a space for education. Farm Camp is our next children’s offering, where children can observe a working farm and enjoy learning about the different components of it. During Farm Camp, children will move through activities throughout the day, which will encourage critical thinking, cooperation, team work, creativity, and of course fun. Interactions with farm animals, making meals straight from the garden, playing in the soil, building bird houses are just a little of what is to come.

We built this program not only for our own children, but for yours too. We know investing in our children and their future is one of our greatest tasks! A well worthy cause!

🌸 When: Farm Camp will be held weekly, Monday - Thursday, May - September. First session is May 19th. Daily class meets 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
🌸 Where: in North Lebanon
🌸 Ages: 3 (potty trained - 8) drop off model AND/or parents are welcome to stay/support with direction from instructor
🌸 Price: sliding scale $75 - $150 - those that can pay full price are kindly asked to do so to offset costs for lower income families
🌸 We need sponsors to scholarship children! Please PM for more details
🌸 Details: Each week will have a different theme for learning. Our curriculum is nature based, curated by experienced educators, with inspiration from Waldorf, Montessori and nature based programs
🌸 How to register: registration opens May 9th. Sign the google form (find link in the comments and our bio) to be notified directly when registration is live.

We have received multiple inquiries about programming for older children. We hear you and are doing our best to incorporate. For now, please also sign the interest form so we can notify you when new programming becomes available.

Spring cooking class with at

Cooking class with us is focused on seasonality, ingredients, learning about farming, and local food sourcing. Inspiration comes from the season and what is growing locally and in our own yards.

We shared recipes and demos on:
🧈 Floral and herb compound butters
🥒 Quick pickles
🌱 Nettle and Arugula Paté
🫛 Vegetable crudité with whipped feta
🫙 Herbal Infused oils and vinegars

Hello new friends 👋🏼

Anna Maria here, “beekeeping mama” and mama to not just two sweet wild boys but goats, chickens, guineas, bees, turkeys, dogs, and cats. My family and I run a small mon-cert organic and regenerative farm near the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

After leaving the city 4 years ago, my husband and I continue to work at our dreams of farming full time. We both share a passion for good food and land restoration, so farming with regenerative practices helps us achieve both. I also am deeply passionate/slightly obsessed with honeybees and pollinators and medicinal plants. Lucian loves working with compost and soil, and.
# love being out in the market garden.

We are both professors in horticulture and Lucian also certifies folks in Permaculture Design. We host an annual 2 week intensive on our farm that transforms lives, not just the students but all participating. It is powerful work!
