We had a great morning at Lebanon Primary School celebrating Agriculture Literacy Week! 🌱📚

Lebanon FFA members spent time in the classrooms reading Farm Boots by Lisa Detlefsen, AITC’s 2026 Book of the Year.

It’s always special getting to share agriculture with younger students and spark their interest in where their food and fibers come from! 💙💛💙💛

📣 Congratulations to our members who competed in the Southwest District Stockman's Contest! 👏
They put their skills to the test at various stations including a quiz 📝, breed ID 🐑, livestock equipment ID 🩺, feeds/nutrition, meat ID and judging 🥩, and hay judging🌾! They finished strong with a team problem where they used specific calculations to answer a series of questions to solve the problem.
Ben, Clayton, and Andrea worked hard against some tough competitors and we are so proud!

Ben Blevins- 9th Overall Senior
Clayton Brown - 10th Overall Senior

4th place Overall Senior Team!!

Reminder‼️ The Virginia Tech Hippology Contest will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026. The deadline to register is Thursday, January 22. Please see Mrs. Blevins or Mrs. Estep if you have any questions!

To know Riley Wyatt, was to love him. We will always be proud to have had Riley represent Lebanon High School FFA. We have so many good memories of our time together that will always be a special part of our program. Riley will continue to be an inspiration to all 💙💛

LHS FFA had an outstanding day at the Carroll County Stockman’s Contest! 🌟

Individual Results:
🏅 1st Place: C**t Roberts
🥉 3rd Place: Clayton Brown
🏅 7th Place: Ben Blevins

Our team of C**t Roberts, Ben Blevins, Clayton Brown, and Collin Ball also brought home High Senior Team honors! We are incredibly proud of each contestant and the hard work they put in.

👉 A Stockman’s Contest tests students’ skills in evaluating livestock, identifying breeds and equipment, understanding feed and nutrition, and making sound management decisions — real-world skills that prepare them for careers in agriculture.

This morning, our LHS FFA officers attended the C**T (Chapter Officer Leadership Training) Conference at the Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center!
They had the opportunity to connect with other FFA leaders from across the region while learning valuable skills to bring back to our chapter. Some of the highlights included:
✅ Team building & communication strategies
✅ How to run effective chapter meetings
✅ Goal setting for a successful year
✅ Strengthening leadership skills through hands-on activities
We are excited to see our officer team put these lessons into action and make this an amazing year for LHS FFA! 💙💛

Egg-citing times at the LHS HenHouse 🐔 🥚! We appreciate our community members who donated these beautiful Buff Orpington hens to our Ag department. Students are responsible for the care of the flock by feeding, watering, and cleaning of our next generation of layers 🥚. They also provide enrichment/socialization (by way of teenagers, we've established that some of the feathers are about 6-7 inches long) .

Congratulations to these talented FFA members who competed in the Stockman's Contest at the Russell County Fair. Lebanon FFA dominated the barn with our teams acquiring 1st and 2nd places in the senior division 🎉🐮💪. A huge shout out to Collin, for coming in at 1st place overall senior contestant 💥. The future of Agriculture is in good hands 👏. Team members included C**t Roberts, Aly Stanley, Andrea Dye, Josie Ketron, Addison Fields, Hoyt Statzer, Collin Ball, Clayton Brown. Way to go, team! We are so proud!
