Lebanon County Head Start Lebanon County Head Start is preschool program for three and four-year-old children and their families. The program is free to eligible families.

Lebanon County Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for three and four-year-old children and their families. It is designed to strengthen and encourage early literacy, social development, resourcefulness, and self-sufficiency by providing positive learning experiences. In Lebanon County, IU 13 partners with its six school districts to provide young children with the early literacy skills they need to succeed. Early Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers. Its mission is to enhance the development of very young children, and to promote healthy family functioning. Home visits provide parents with information on child development, nutrition, health and community services, and a parent/child activity is included. For more information call 450-1512.

It is not too late to make sure your voice is heard!

The deadline to submit a comment on the Head Start Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), “Reducing Federal Burden for Head Start Programs,” is tomorrow, October 6, 2026.

This is an opportunity for the Head Start community to make its voice heard and help inform the federal rulemaking process. Programs, staff, parents, caregivers, alumni, and partners can share their perspectives on the proposed changes, including what they support, what raises concerns, and what they want federal decision-makers to consider as they determine what comes next for Head Start.

Jezniel drew pictures with his mom and grandmother today! He used his fine motor skills to make circles and dots on paper to represent portraits of each of them. He then asked for tape and hung every picture on the fridge. When he was done he stood back and admired his work with a big smile on his face. He put his arms out towards the pictures and said Tada! 🎉
