The year is coming to an end. This group of children really bonded with each other. They had endless meaningful conversations and play all year. They played well and with many different friends all throughout the day. They worked well together in the classroom. It was a joy watching those relationships develop and grow. Their true personalities unfold as they are in safe space with friends. And the teachers bonded as well! It was a very good year!

Thanks to Wrenworks and Jennifer Adams for coming in to do a special reading and art program with us. The children made their own quilt influenced by the book The All Together Quilt. It was a fun 3 days.

Spring outings have been going on around here! Library, walks, church, fire station, and outdoor play has been providing much needed sunshine, fun, and enrichment!

Turantula Day! Thanks to Daniel and Lexi Moniz for bringing in some unique creatures for us to see. Tarantulas, scorpions, and a few other interesting bugs!! It was fun and informative!

March has been very busy! This time of children are moving into some really fun work. Reading, math, sensorial, practical life, and cultural areas are just exploding with children's discovery and growth!

The winter skies are gray, but inside the work is getting brighter and more expansive! Studying Kandinsky has given us some color in the classroom. Lots of great work is happening around here!

As we started the New Year, we began discussing the artist Piet Mondrian in the classroom. It sparked all kinds of activity. We created Mondrian art at the easel, at the mosaic glue station, on paper with markers, and with paper and glue! One child found Mondrian style colors on their socks. Another child found Mondrian colors in a book cover. (The balloons) One child even dressed like a "Piet Mondrian" - black headband and red, yellow and blue colors! They were inspired! Then, of course, winter brought us lots of snow. We eventually got out in it after the wind chill was kinder to us.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all this season! Helping out with Family Promise to make Christmas morning special for some families, just never gets old! The children love this tradition and we thank Earl and Dianne Edmunds for making this happen. Some Christmas pics of our last day of school before break are included. The children were comfy, happy, and did NOT want school to end. This age of life they groan when we say no school until after Christmas break! See you all in January!

Happy Halloween from all at FM! We just love a good Halloween celebration. It always amazes me that what the children want to do is have "work time"! Shows how a free, vibrant, and well-prepared environment is just what the children need and want, even during special days. We did love having our costume parade and "practice" trick or treating. Even the rain gave us a small break just in time! We were so sorry some of the children were home sick! We missed you all!
