Last Monday, we hosted our county beef show at the James E. Ward Ag Center! We had several exhibitors showcase their beef projects, and they all did an amazing job! We look forward to seeing how well they do at the region and state shows later this summer!

A special thank you to the James E. Ward Ag Center staff for the use of the Q Barn and for helping us get our show set up, the Wilson County Livestock Association for donating a cap to each of our exhibitors, and Dwight Liddle and Liddle Farms for sponsoring our showmanship and champion banners! If you showed at last week's show, please share your pictures with us!

The future of 4-H livestock exhibiting in Wilson County looks bright!🍀🍀

Wilson County 4-H Volunteer, Rachel Koch, taught 2 photography classes last week to youth in 4th - 12th grades. 4-H Photography classes are tiered classes. Youth must complete level 1 to advance to level 2. In level 1 photography, 7 youth learned basic picture-taking skills. They walked around historic Fiddlers Grove at the James E. Ward Ag Center, taking photos. Rachel was able to give them tips and tricks to take better photos. She also taught a level 2 photography class the same day. 3 youth enjoyed learning more advanced picture-taking skills. Any youth can enter their photos in the youth photography division at the Wilson County - Tennessee State Fair in August. If you are interested in taking these classes, please email us at [email protected] or visit our website at wilson.tennessee.edu. We are so proud of all of these youth.
