Learning Spotlight: Letter Review!

This week, we're putting our letter skills to work as we review Ss and Ff! 🐍🦊

🧠 WHY WE TEACH IT: PATTERNS 🔺⚪

Patterns may look like simple play, but they're building BIG early math skills!

When children create and continue patterns, they're practicing:

🔍 Observation – noticing what comes next
🧠 Problem-Solving – figuring out the pattern
🔢 Early Math Skills – recognizing order and repetition
💡 Critical Thinking – making predictions

This week, we're using our shapes of the month—circles and triangles—to practice creating simple patterns. 🔺⚪🔺⚪

🏡 Try It at Home: Make a simple pattern with toys, snacks, or household objects and ask your child, “What comes next?”

📚 This Week at Bumble & Bloom 🐝

As we wrap up our Welcome to School theme, we're bringing together everything we've learned this month through fun, hands-on activities that help strengthen important early learning skills!

This week, our little learners will be exploring:

🔺🔵 Patterns with Shapes – Using our shapes of the month, triangles and circles, we'll create, identify, and extend simple patterns while building early math and critical thinking skills.

🌳 Friendship Tree – Together, we'll create a special Friendship Tree that celebrates kindness, teamwork, and the unique role each child plays in our classroom community.

🔤 Letter Review: Ss & Ff – We'll review the letters S and F through stories, songs, games, and hands-on literacy activities.

❤️💛 Color Review: Red & Yellow – Exploring and identifying our colors through art, sensory experiences, and everyday classroom activities.

🔢 Number Review: 0, 1 & 2 – Practicing counting, number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence through engaging games and activities.

At Bumble & Bloom, we believe learning happens through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences. This week's activities are designed to help children build confidence while celebrating all they've accomplished during their first month back at school!

🏡 Parent Connection: Create a simple pattern at home using toys, blocks, or snacks (🍎🍌🍎🍌). Ask your child what comes next! You can also review the letters S and F, count from 0–2, and encourage them to tell you about a friend they enjoy playing with and why.

Through stories, songs, hands-on activities, and play, children are building important early literacy skills while learning to recognize both uppercase and lowercase Ff.

This week we'll be practicing:

🐟 F is for Fish
🌸 F is for Flower
🦶 F is for Foot
