🍀 Congratulations to Reid and Diane Hoover on receiving the 2026 Dairy Hall of Fame Award! 🐄🏆

The Lebanon County 4-H program would like to extend our congratulations to Reid and Diane Hoover on this outstanding achievement!

While this recognition highlights their many contributions to Pennsylvania's dairy industry, we would be remiss not to recognize Diane's 25 years of service as a Lebanon County 4-H volunteer. 💚 Through her dedication to youth, agriculture, and leadership development, Diane has made a lasting impact on generations of 4-H members.

We are grateful for all that Diane and the Hoover family have done to support young people and agriculture in our community. 🌱🍀 Thank you for your years of service, leadership, and commitment to helping youth learn, grow, and succeed.

Congratulations to Reid & Diane Hoover, the 2026 Dairy Hall of Fame Award Recipients!

This award was developed to recognize the outstanding service and accomplishments of Pennsylvania dairy leaders. Selection is based on character, leadership, and the development of youth in the dairy industry.

Reid and Diane live in South Annville, Lebanon County, and have four children and nine grandchildren. For 44 years, their family has operated Brook-Corner Holsteins, a registered Holstein herd with 375 milking cows and approximately 400 acres. They now farm in partnership with their son Brad and daughter-in-law Amy.

The family has exhibited cattle at local, state and national shows, earning All-Pennsylvania and All-American recognition. They have also hosted educational farm tours, dairy judging teams and the Northeast Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge.

Both have dedicated decades to agricultural and community leadership. Reid has served in leadership roles with several dairy, education and youth organizations, including the Center for Dairy Excellence and Pennsylvania Holstein Association. Diane has been active in dairy promotion and 4-H for 35 years and has served as chair of the Pennsylvania Beef Council and as Pennsylvania’s representative on the Cattlemen’s Beef Board.

Their honors include the 2016 Pennsylvania and National Dairy Beef Quality Assurance Award and Reid’s 2018 Distinguished Dairy Producer Award. They chaired the 2021 National Holstein Convention in Pennsylvania, are active members of Gingrich's Mennonite Church and co-operate Colebrook Crossing, a soft-serve ice cream restaurant.

The Hoovers will receive the Dairy Hall of Fame Award during the Holstein fall calf class at the Premier National Junior Show on Monday afternoon, Sept. 14, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Congratulations are in order for Lebanon County 4-H member Eli Isenberg on his outstanding performance at the 2026 Pennsylvania 4-H State Shooting Sports Contest! 🎯🏹

Eli competed in the Recreational Archery Division and brought home impressive results:
🥈 2nd Place Ranking in Recreation FITA Compound Archery and earned a Blue Merit Award
🥉 3rd Place Ranking in Recreation 3-D Compound Archery and earned a Red Merit Award

Eli's hard work, focus, and dedication to developing his archery skills have paid off, and we are proud to see him representing Lebanon County 4-H at the state level. Please join us in congratulating Eli on these excellent accomplishments!

Ready to grow your leadership skills? State Leadership Conference Jr. is a great opportunity for younger 4-H'ers to build confidence, develop leadership abilities, and connect with fellow members through interactive workshops and hands-on activities at Penn State University Park on October 3.

💰 Lebanon County 4-H members automatically receive a 75% scholarship, reducing the registration fee from $75 to just $18.75.

Register for State Leadership Conference Jr!

Join us on October 3 at Penn State's University Park Campus for a day-long workshop that introduces leadership skills to our young, up-and-coming leaders.

This event is open to 4-H'ers ages 10-13. It offers instruction on foundational leadership skills to prepare younger members to take on more roles as they continue to grow in 4-H. Participants will engage in small- and large-group activities and hands-on breakout workshops during the conference.

As summer begins to wind down, it's time to start thinking about wrapping up your 4-H year and preparing for some important upcoming deadlines!

✅ Clover Award Applications Due August 28

Members may submit their Clover Award Applications either through zSuite or by completing a paper application. Both digital and paper applications are due to the Lebanon County Extension Office by August 28.

✅ 4-H Officer Books Due August 28

Any Lebanon County 4-H member wishing to be considered for a Lebanon County 4-H Officer Award should submit their officer book to the Extension Office by August 28.

Join us for a 4-H Record Book Clinic/Open House!

Stop by anytime during the clinic to work on your record book, ask questions, and get help finalizing your records.
