Get Smarter Prep Want to know where your student stands with the ACT or SAT? Get Smarter Prep makes it easy! We look forward to speaking with you!

We invite you to have your student take a FREE practice test at one of our locations. It's the first step towards a personalized prep plan and higher scores. Get Smarter Prep gives the most personalized test prep around by offering the smallest classes in the industry taught by highly trained and highly passionate teachers. We don't believe we can help you take the most important test of your high school career by giving you a one day seminar or by giving you a bunch of practice problems and going over what you got wrong. We coach techniques, strategies, and content review through 10 weeks of classes, 2 hours at a time, right up until a test date. We know that standardized testing often accounts for 25% or more of a college admissions application, and we treat it accordingly:

* Full-length diagnostic tests from the testmakers

* Never more than 6 students in a class

* Curriculum and courses designed by teachers who have spent thousands of hours in a classroom, not a cubicle. We also offer comprehensive independent college counseling to those who wish to have a professional help them through the applications and scholarship processes. We've been invited many times to speak at area campuses about both high school and graduate test prep. We're happy to do this any time for your school (free of charge) - simply contact us.

Our new website is live.

⚠️ Important Update for ACT Students & Families

Google Gemini is releasing “ACT-branded” practice content starting June 25.

To be clear: This material is NOT produced, reviewed, authorized, or endorsed by the ACT.

ACT has confirmed they have zero involvement.

When Gemini released similar SAT content, it contained major errors — including questions out of order and topics (like logarithms) that don’t even appear on the actual test.

We have no reason to believe the new ACT content will be any more accurate.

At Get Smarter Prep, we strongly recommend preparing with official ACT materials and guidance from qualified professionals.

Your time is valuable — don’t waste it on unreliable AI-generated practice.

📕 Applying to College? Think in Three Buckets!

At Get Smarter Prep, we help students build a smart, balanced college list using the proven 3-Bucket Strategy:

🚀Reach Schools
Your dream schools — highly selective, but still possible with your stats and story. These are the ones that make you think “What if…?”

🎯Match (Target) Schools
Your sweet spot — strong academic fit where your GPA, test scores, and extracurriculars align perfectly. This is where most of your acceptances should come from.

🛡️Safety Schools
Colleges where your profile is above average. These give you peace of mind and great options you’d genuinely be happy to attend.

✅Pro tip: A strong list usually has 2–4 schools in each bucket (total 8–12 applications).

Don’t just throw darts at the Common App — build a strategic list that maximizes options and minimizes stress!

At Get Smarter Prep, we help you identify the right buckets for your goals, strengths, and aspirations — then craft every part of your application to stand out in each one.

🌞 Summer break is here — but your ACT prep doesn’t have to stop!

Reading (and listening to audiobooks 🎧) is one of the smartest, lowest-stress ways to boost your ACT Reading score.

It builds:
📚 Faster reading speed & stamina
📚 Stronger vocabulary & comprehension
📚 Better critical thinking for tricky passages

Backed by real research: students who read 4–6+ books over summer show measurable gains and avoid summer slide.

Print books for skill-building + audiobooks for extra volume = the perfect combo!
