First day of school is in the books!

I’m proud of this staff and the wide variety of experiences, talents, and personalities they bring to our students every day. Middle school isn’t for everybody — it takes a certain type of energy and empathy to do it well.

Great staff. Great kids. Proud to be a Pioneer!

As we begin another school year, I’m proud to serve alongside our Richard Warren Middle School administrative team: Ms. Cervantes, Ms. Tsen, and me.

Together, we bring experience across elementary, middle, and high school education, instructional leadership, athletics, safety and security, and student support.

Different experiences. One team. One mission. We look forward to working with each and every one of our students and families, and we’re excited for the first day of school!

Proud to lead our Pioneers!

As a reminder, all detailed school communication is now sent through ParentSquare. Please make sure your email address and phone number are current in PowerSchool so you don’t miss important updates.

The 3 R's: Let's talk about being RESPONSIBLE!

Being a Pioneer means taking ownership of your own actions and choices. True character shines brightest when no one is watching!

When we take responsibility, we build a strong, supportive school community.

This spring the Kansas legislature passed Kansas House Bill 2299 which requires school districts to limit social media to one-way communication with students. Since we are unable to discern whether a social media account belongs to a current student, Leavenworth USD 453 social media accounts will no longer respond to direct messages or comment-based conversations on posts.

Direct communication via email or phone call will continue to be the best way to ask questions and provide feedback.

Our custodial, facilities, tech, and security teams have worked hard all summer to get our building ready and all support systems in place! Our registrar and district staff have also been working all month to help get students enrolled.

Our incredible staff is leading by example—showing us exactly what it looks like to be prepared and ready for a great school year!
