BASIS Leander Primary and BASIS Leander are new tuition-free public charter schools opening for the 2026–27 school year. BASIS Leander Primary will serve grades K–5, while BASIS Leander will open with grades 6–8. We will add one grade level each year, so your child will receive a full K–12 education. With our accelerated curriculum, robust student support system, and variety of enriching extracurr

iculars, we empower students to achieve at globally competitive levels. BASIS Leander is committed to creating a caring and supportive learning environment where all students are able to reach their highest potential. During the day, students learn about subjects such as Engineering, Literacy, Science, Math, Mandarin, Art, and much more. After school, students in all grade levels can participate in our wide range of student clubs and sports. Our state-of-the-art new campus will be equipped with science labs, a full-size gym, a black box theater, and three outdoor play areas.

We are excited to introduce the newest Charger! 📚Please welcome to BASIS Leander, Raunak Choudhary, teaching 2nd Grade Science & Social Studies.

🔬With a background in Computer Science and Physics, a Bachelor of Education, and years of teaching experience, Ms. Choudhary believes that “Curiosity is where learning begins, confidence is where it grows, and kindness is what makes learning unforgettable.” Her goal is to inspire young minds to ask questions, think boldly, and discover the joy of learning every day.

Welcome to 265 Raider Way! ⚡A new chapter for BASIS Texas Charter Schools has officially begun in Leander and we are so excited to welcome our students, teachers, and families to campus for their first day of school.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us at the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of BASIS Leander and BASIS Leander Primary.

❤️We are honored to begin this journey with the Leander community and can’t wait to see the students, memories, and possibilities that grow within these walls.

We are excited to introduce the newest Charger! ✏️ Please welcome to BASIS Leander, Carina Reason, teaching 7th & 8th Grade Physics + Pre-Calculus.

🍎 Ms. Reason began her journey in education eight years ago after transitioning from corporate America. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix.

With a strong passion for STEAM education, Ms. Reason enjoys inspiring curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in her students. Outside the classroom, she values maintaining a healthy work-life balance through volunteering, traveling, growing in her faith, and creating meaningful memories with her college-aged daughter.

We are excited to introduce the newest Charger!🔬Please welcome to BASIS Leander, Ryan Gonzalez, teaching 3rd Grade Science and Social Studies.

Mr. Gonzalez is originally from the San Francisco bay area where he graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor's in history and a Master's in teaching. After teaching for 6 years, he is excited to challenge his classrooms in both subjects and build a culture that loves to learn and excel in school.

Meet the newest Charger! 🍎 Please welcome to BASIS Leander, Naga Desam, our newest 3rd Grade Learning Expert Teacher.

After earning her bachelor's degree in Interior Design and spending nearly seven years in the design industry, Ms. Desam chose to follow what had always brought her the most joy: teaching.

Her early experiences tutoring students showed her that the greatest designs aren't always built with walls and furniture. Sometimes they're built through curiosity, confidence, and meaningful learning.

Introducing the newest Charger! ⚡Please welcome to BASIS Leander, Madhuri Vadditandra, teaching 6th Grade Biology.

🔬Originally from India, Ms. Vadditandra graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, earning two university gold medals. She published two research papers and specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of precancerous oral lesions before practicing as a dentist for several years.

After moving to the United States, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Science from the McCombs School of Business to further her interest in clinical data research and analysis. Last year was her first year teaching at BASIS Austin, and she is thrilled to begin her second year with BASIS as part of the Leander campus.
