📚💜 **Reading Is Grand!** 💜📚

We’re celebrating **Grandparents Day** with a special opportunity for grandparents to share the joy of reading with our students! We’d love for grandparents to join us and read to small groups of children. ❤️

📅 **Friday, September 11th**
📖 Choose your child’s grade-level reading time listed on the flyer.
✨ Classroom teachers will have a variety of books ready to choose from!

🐾 HISLE FAMILIES: ACTION REQUIRED ⚠️
— WE’RE MAKING SCHOOL EVENTS EASIER! 💙

We’re excited to introduce official Hisle Elementary Visitor Lanyards! Each family will receive 2 lanyards that will allow you to bypass the check-in line at future school events when you’re wearing your lanyard.

✨ Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Get your ID scanned at the front office with Ms. Marnelli
2️⃣ Pick up your lanyards at Family Curriculum Night (Walk the Paws) on September 17th
3️⃣ Wear your lanyard and skip the line at future events!

📅 IMPORTANT: Please bring your ID to the front office by Monday, September 14th to be able to receive your lanyard on September 17th. If you do not come to campus by Monday, September 14, you will not be able to pick them up until after September 21st.

And don’t forget our new Hounds in the Hallways tradition! 🐾
Starting September 18th ➡️ Every Friday before 7:30 AM, parents may walk their child to class. You may use your new lanyards on 9/18 to skip the line!

A big THANK YOU to 'sIt. and for their generous donation of That’s it. Fiber Bars! 💙🐾

We were able to share these with our Hisle families and stock some in the staff breakroom for our amazing teachers and staff to enjoy throughout their busy days!

We’re so grateful for donations like these that help us add a few extra treats for our Hisle community. Thank you, That’s it. and PTO Today, for helping us kick off the new school year! 🐾💙

We're still looking for some amazing volunteers to help support our Grade Connection Teams!

This year, we've reimagined the traditional "Room Rep" into a team approach, making it easier than ever to get involved. Instead of one or two people doing everything, each grade has a Grade Connection Team made up of three simple volunteer roles. Most roles can be shared by multiple volunteers, so you can help in a way that fits your schedule!

- Communications Coordinator - Helps share teacher needs, classroom requests, and grade level information with families.

- Party Coordinator - Coordinates two classroom parties during the school year (December and End of May). Teachers plan the activities and you help organize the parties.

- Teacher Celebration Coordinator - Coordinates teacher birthdays throughout the year and helps organize Teacher Appreciation Week at the beginning of May. Teacher Appreciation week can be as simple as a thoughtful gift or card, or as elaborate as a themed week like what the PTO does. The PTO is happy to provide ideas and support no matter which option you decide to go with!

Not ready to coordinate a role? We'd love to have you as a Support Volunteer! Let us know and we'll reach out when we need an extra helping hand for events and projects.

Interested but have questions? Sign up anyway! We'll be hosting an information meeting in mid-September where you can learn more about each role before deciding if you'd like to volunteer.

Our goal is to have every grade fully covered so every class has the support they deserve. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there's a place for you on the team.
