Vivid School of Music in Leander is interviewing new part-time private music teachers! We have a couple openings for voice, piano, and guitar instructors between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekdays, and flexible hours on weekends.

We teach all kinds of music, but our school focuses more on the rock and pop side of music rather than classical. We keep kids excited about learning by helping them learn the music they love! We're a small family-run local business, starting back in 2008.

IBNH (Insert Band Name Here) has been a thing since 2022, y'all. That's four years!

A few members have come and gone over the years, but our headlining band is still going strong and this past weekend, played their best show yet with a 24-song set list.

Teen Rock Show tonight (Saturday Aug 8th) at Firewater Cafe in Cedar Park! Our headlining rock band hits the stage at 7:30pm with a full TWO HOUR SET featuring music by The Cure, Måneskin, The Black Keys, Vallejo, Cake, Pat Benatar, Paramore, and tons more. All ages welcome, with no cover! 🎸

Betcha didn't know that our teacher Robby Harris plays pedal steel with the band Next of Kin, which won the Austin Music Award for Best New Artist 2026, and will be gracing the stage at Lollapalooza this summer!

You do now, though. :)

Pedal steel's more complicated (with regards to size and set-up time) than our other instruments, so our pedal steel lessons are longer and cost more than the rest of our offerings. But if you've ever wanted to learn this incredible instrument, we most definitely have the teacher for you!

The Bee's Knees and Insert Band Name Here are playing at Firewater Sports Bar Cafe in Cedar Park from 8:00-10:15pm - all ages, no cover.

Featuring music by bands like Nirvana, Cake, INXS, The Black Keys, Green Day and more, along with a three-song tribute set to local band Vallejo.

We have exciting news to share! After many wonderful years as Sense & Color, we are officially changing our name.

Sense & Color is becoming Vivid School of Music!

Why the change?
-----------------------

The name Sense & Color (from a Grateful Dead song lyric) originated 15+ years ago, back when we were working with local jambands. The name stuck when we started teaching music lessons out of our home, and the rest is ancient history.

The name served us well, but it’s 2026 and time for a name that matches the vibe of our school! The name Vivid is short, memorable, and easy to spell, and it captures everything we strive for: bold, bright, eager, and artistic. Just like what we see in our students every day!

What does this mean for our students?

Nothing’s changing except the name!

We’re still the exact same small local business with the same owner, same awesome staff, same location, same quality teachers, same client portal, same rockin’ band program with Band Director Todd, same friendly service from Amy & Gwen via our text inbox.

Our new website will be vividmusicschool.com. Right now, that just redirects to our old site, but we’ll let y'all know when it’s time to update your bookmarks.

Thank you so much for being part of our community. We can’t wait to see you at your next lesson at Vivid!
