If you have ever watched a kid just 'get' algebra while yours struggles, Kumon explains exactly why it's not natural ability. In my experience, what looks like natural ability in algebra usually isn't.
The children who grasp algebra quickly aren't wired differently. Their arithmetic is automatic and foundational concepts solid. When algebra arrives, it's not a leap into the unknown, but a logical extension of what they've already mastered. They didn't get algebra faster, they got ready for it earlier.

The problem with math tutoring, often overlooked, is its focus on short-term gains. Getting through this week's homework or acing the next test provides immediate relief, but it rarely addresses the root cause of struggle.
The real issue, as we see it, is often foundational. When students are missing core skills from earlier years, they are constantly playing catch-up, making new concepts feel overwhelming. Our program is designed to systematically close these gaps, building a solid base for future learning.
