Real County, as the floodwaters recede, safely make assessments to your property for damage. If you experienced damage from the recent flooding-including homes, agricultural infrastructure, livestock facilities, fences, and/or equipment -please report it to the Texas Division of Emergency Management by selecting the July 12th Severe Weather event. Please take pictures before starting the clean-up process.

If you need assistance in navigating the damage assessment tool (iSTAT), please call the Real County Extension Office at (830)232-5464.
Submitting an iSTAT does not guarantee financial assistance but it does increase the chances of financial assistance.

The Texas Department of Agriculture has opened the STAR Fund application for eligible producers impacted by the July 2026 flooding. Applications are due October 31, 2026.

Depending on the size of the disaster, additional assistance may be made available from government and/or nonprofit, volunteer and faith-based organizations. Although disaster assistance programs are not designed to return you to pre-disaster condition, they may help you begin the recovery process.
