On July 24, 2026, GC FFA held a Chapter Officer Retreat at the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Moss Point, MS. The students started the day with a kayak trip along the salt marshes of Bayou Heron. The students participated in other natural resources and FFA leadership activities. Last year's Chapter President, Sophey Errington, gave a reflection of her recent experience at the Washington Lesdership Conference that was held in Washington, D.C. We finished the day with some fine seafood at Catalina's Restaurant.

Congratulations to our Welding Fabrication Team on an outstanding achievement at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta this week!

Jacob Roberts, Jace Mack, and Dylan Lake represented Greene County Career and Technical Center with excellence, earning an impressive 18th-place finish in the nation. Their performance showcased the technical skills, dedication, and work ethic they have developed throughout their time in the welding program.

We are incredibly proud of these young men and the way they represented our school district on the national stage.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed and supported their journey to the national competition. Your generosity and encouragement helped make this opportunity possible.

Congratulations, Jacob, Jace, and Dylan! Your hard work and accomplishments have made our school and community proud.

Greene County was represented well at the 93rd MS FFA State Convention this week. The students enjoyed gracing the stage, visiting the MSU Campus, Guest Speaker Nick "Sunshine" Tokman, and Sam L. Smith in concert.

Special Thanks to the MS FFA Alumni for sponsoring the delicious meal on Wednesday prepared by Hog Heaven BBQ, located in Laurel, MS. You should definitely go check them out.
