This week on our adventure through the Solar System 🤪, Space Cadets are going to learn about Mercury the closet planet to the Sun!

-We had a Private Chef come in & teach our cadets how to make Macaroni & Cheese from scratch just like scientists carefully follow steps and measurements when studying planets, our students learned about following recipes, measuring ingredients, and observing changes as food cooks. We also discussed how Mercury’s extreme temperatures affect everything on its surface. 👨‍🍳

-STEM Adventures: School Age Cadets participated in STEM class! 🧪

-Mercury Sand Art: All Cadets made Space Sand Art to keep & take home! 🛸

-Mercury Meteor Mix: Our Space Cadets enjoyed a special Mercury Meteor Mix snack made with popcorn, Goldfish crackers, cheese balls, & Cheez-Its! The different shapes and sizes represented meteors, rocks, and craters that have impacted Mercury’s surface over billions of years! 🪨🛘

-Check out our awesome Garden blooming amazing Veggies🫑😍. Thank you to our amazing helpers with the Garden we are so thankful! 💚

Stay Tuned for Days 3,4 & 5 …. 🔭

To finish up Neptune week our Big Space Cadets visited Moody Gardens Aquarium 🦈 where they connected Neptune’s deep blue color to water and explored animals.

Our Mini Space Cadets had a Glow Party with fog, bubbles 🫧, music, glowing accessories, and snacks as they talked about Neptune’s cold, windy 🌬️ mysterious atmosphere. They also played “Pin the Ring on Neptune” while learning that Neptune has faint rings around it.

Our campers continued Intro to Sewing 🧵🪡with Mrs.Brenda & started their plushies!

All space cadets 🧑🏼‍🚀 made glow-in-the-dark slime to represent Neptune glowing in the darkness of space.

To end the week, we cooled off on the Orbit Waterslide while learning that Neptune is an icy planet 🥶 & enjoyed snow cones 🍧 from the Frozen Treat truck as a tasty reminder that Neptune is known as an ice giant 🧊🫡 !

Bye Bye Neptune 💙🪐✨, Here we come Mercury 🌚🩶🪨 !
