Dear BACS Orchestra Families,
I pray that everyone has enjoyed their summer break. I know my family has kept busy, enjoying time together and getting my oldest daughter ready to move to college.
The main reason I’m posting today is to share that this past month I made the difficult decision to resign as the Orchestra Director at BACS. In late July, I was offered an opportunity to work with our church, filling a position that had unexpectedly come open. I felt torn about leaving BACS, but I had to trust that the Lord was opening doors for a reason. Upon prayer and discussion with my husband, I decided to accept our church's job offer. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to be closer with our congregation and work with my husband, the pulpit minister. Teaching is in my blood though (2nd generation), so I will continue teaching through my private music studio in the Clear Lake area.
Even though I’m sad to be leaving, I am really excited to share that Mrs. Elisabeth Hope has been hired as my replacement. Mrs. Hope is originally from Albuquerque, NM where she was a member of a Suzuki studio and violin tour group. She has two bachelor degrees (in music and communications) from George Mason University and a master’s degree in music from the University of Houston. She is well known as a featured violin soloist and has a thriving private studio in Dickinson, TX as well. Mrs. Hope is also currently on the board of the Southeast Texas Suzuki Association.
In life, we know that things happen for a reason. Within that, sometimes God guides us onto a path that we don't expect. With this in mind, I am so comforted in knowing that Mrs. Hope will be leading the BACS Orchestras. Our program will be in such an amazing place with her guidance and expertise.
The last 3 years at BACS has truly been a blessing! I will forever be grateful to the students & parents, as well as my colleagues, for such an amazing experience overall. I wish you all the best in the future and look forward to keeping in touch.
God Bless,
Mrs. Sanford
