Hey now! If you’re feeling stuck—whether it's pain, anxiety, trauma, lack of coordination or just life burnout—you’re not alone! Maybe you've tried all the "right" things—exercises, meditation, even special treatments—but nothing's clicking. And you're smart enough to know there’s more to life than just managing symptoms.

Here's what you may be missing:

-Thinking pushing harder is the answer (when slowing down is the real game-changer)
-Settling for managing pain instead of rewiring your body and mind through neuroplasticity
-Ignoring how movement and emotions are intertwined
-Staying stuck in a fixed mindset when a growth mindset can unlock real transformation.

It’s time you stop settling! Your brain is the key to accessing your full potential.

Are you ready to experience a breakthrough in how you move and feel? Join me at James River Yoga Studio for NeuroMovement® class and start unlocking your unique brain potential. Together, we’ll explore gentle, brain-based movement to upgrade your function, reduce pain, and increase mental and physical flexibility (without stretching!)

Join me Mondays nights, 6-7pm at the JRY studio!

Hey! That's tonight! Come tonight and your first class is on me! See you at Lynchburg's favorite yoga+ studio!

-Adrienne

PS: Wish you could come but don't live in Lynchburg? Stay tuned!!! I have a plan for that!

I'm so excited to offer a community class in my (new)hometown of LYH! Join me on Mondays from 6-7 PM starting September 23rd as we experience the magic of gentle, brain-based movement together. 🌿
NeuroMovement® is a gentle but powerful brain-centered approach to movement designed to help you feel more comfortable in your body, no matter your ability, or experience. By focusing on the brain’s remarkable capacity to adapt and create new neural pathways, my class offers a safe and supportive environment where movement becomes easier, less painful, and more enjoyable. Whether you're recovering from injury, dealing with neurodiversity, or simply looking for a way to move without strain, NeuroMovement® can help.
Moving in and with my community is the best medicine I know. (I've been doing it for 20 years and counting!)💫 Our brains thrive on connection and movement—it's how we create order, reduce stress, and enhance well-being.
This class is a space where each person can move, heal, and grow at their own pace.💛 You will not be corrected, but you will be re-wired! Feel free to drop in and get your own taste!

"Owee, owee oweeeeeeee!!!!!!"

That was my pain war cry as a scarred, scabbed, scraped and bruised child, bumping up against the world. It seemed that if I amplified my voice long enough, eventually, I could feel the pain alarm bells die down. A kiss and hug could also do the trick.

A bit of drama or a touch of empathy works great for acute pain, but not so much for ongoing, persistent, slow- burn pain.

You know. The grown up kind.

If you're tired of persistent pain controlling your life, or you know someone who is, you might be surprised to learn that your brain plays a bigger role in pain than you think.

In my latest blog post, "Use Your Brain, Heal Your Pain" we'll take a peek into the science of pain and how your thoughts and emotions can actually amplify or diminish it.

Here's what you'll discover:

The surprising role your brain plays in pain perception
How to challenge negative thought patterns that worsen pain
Practical steps to manage and even reduce chronic pain
A little learning goes a long way. Click the link below to read, watch or listen to the full post and start rewriting your pain story today!

And if you know someone who suffers persistent pain, this could help them make a bit more sense of what's happening.

ou know the saying "less is more"? Well, it turns out this applies not just to an aesthetic approach, but also to learning and well-being.
A student in my movement class recently shared a powerful thought: "Imagine if we learned to connect with ourselves like this as children? The world would be a different place." She said that as a Pilates teacher, she’s been trained to push and squeeze harder and to do more. Yet here at Moovy, she's learning to move in new and powerful ways by doing less, not more.
And this brings us to an essential principle for upgrading health and vitality...and the science that explains how it works. Find out in my latest article or watch the video here:

I have a dear friend who I literally have to step back from in order to hear her voice at a lower volume. She has one button on her speaker, marked LOUD!!!!
If you’ve ever been around someone whose volume seems stuck on "loud," you may notice, it's not necessarily about a hearing problem – sometimes, it's about a lack of perception to the magnitude of their own voice.
This month, we delve into one of the 9 essentials of the NeuroMovementⓇ Method: Subtlety. Just like in speaking TOO LOUD, neglecting subtlety in many areas of life can lead to missed opportunities, unwanted habits and even injuries. But embracing it allows us to experience a richer tapestry of information, fostering deeper connections and navigating life with greater flexibility and ease.
This is your invitation to a deeper understanding of both your body and the world around you!
In my latest blog post, we’ll explore:
-Why subtlety is the secret sauce of movement and life
-How ignoring subtle cues can lead to unexpected consequences-
-The fascinating connection between subtle movement and brainpower
-A fun movement lesson to experience the power of subtlety firsthand

If you've ever experienced long bouts of emotional or physical pain...or you're stuck in the muck with a relationship, a job, a dilemma...this is the rub.

Your brain will get used to anything. It doesn't judge!

The longer you're in it, the more you get used to it.

The more you get used to it, the less conscious you become of what something better or different feels like.

The less you know what something different feels like, the more you accept that this is the way it is.

The more you accept this is the way it is, the less you seek something better.

The good news is, all it takes is ONE MOMENT of AWAKENING + ACTION to make a change.

In my work with students and clients, THE MOVEMENT EFFECT is the catalyst for awakened action.

When you become aware of how you're doing something, and the effects of your actions, you realize you have the power to make a change. And what's more empowering than discovering your own ability to act on purpose?

Gaining the courage to change the things you can, the serenity to accept what's not in your power to change, and the wisdom to know the difference is self-knowledge in action.

What situations are you shrouding in silver linings that you have the power to change?

What is Hope without action?
