Eight years has flown by. Can you remember them that small? Can you remember my hair that short? Do you have any idea what I did with that shirt? Me neither.
But I remember how it felt to watch the kids zipping around on their scooters — a mixture of pride and glee and heart-in-my-throat-because-please-don’t-fall.
I remember how it felt to run up the wall of that bowl at the skate park and make it out on the first try — like a complete goofball and a total badass all at once.
Because I WAS a badass.
This pic was taken 4 months and 2 days after I walked into our Leadville house for the first time after buying it, sight unseen, on the internet.
(Jesse saw it once in person, but I didn’t until we’d already owned it for 3 days and I walked in with two kids, one dog, and NO HUSBAND because Jesse was stuck in the mountains with the broken-down moving truck. His bestie picked up the keys for us and helped me find it when I arrived alone in the dark.)
That was badass AF.
I’m still a badass, even if sometimes I forget that for a minute or two. I do badass s**t all the time. And I’m not the only one.
I bet you can remember at least one time you were a badass.
But how recently have you remembered that YOU STILL ARE A BADASS?
My money is “not recently enough.” So here’s your reminder.
You are a freaking badass.
You get up, every day, an imperfect human who keeps showing the f**k up, and you do the damn thing.
Every day you do it.
You don’t have to move across the country or conquer the skate park to be a badass.
You’re a badass already.
Own that. Not in 8 years. Not in 8 minutes. Right now.
Breathe it in.
And if you want some help with that, slide into my DMs and let’s chat about what it would look like to have my support as your coach as you step all the way into your fully unleashed badass self. I’m here for you.
Let’s do this.
