We Arrive With Roots 🌱
We don’t enter new seasons as untouched seeds.
We arrive with roots.
Roots from what we’ve lived through.
What we’ve been taught.
How we’ve learned to protect ourselves.
How we’ve learned to love.
And sometimes, how we’ve learned to survive.
I’ve been thinking a lot about gardens lately—and how healing might simply be learning to tend our own.
Because something is always being watered.
Sometimes it’s peace.
Sometimes it’s fear.
Sometimes it’s resentment, people-pleasing, comparison, or the need for someone else to tell us we’re worthy.
And eventually, we have to get curious about the fruit.
Do I actually want to keep growing this?
Maybe healing isn’t about becoming a perfectly manicured garden with no weeds.
Maybe it’s noticing the weeds sooner—and refusing to hate ourselves when we find one.
So today, come home to your own garden.
What are you watering?
What needs pruning?
What deserves more nourishment?
Who in your life tells you the truth while still handling your heart gently?
And what might finally have room to grow if you stopped pouring so much of yourself into something that no longer produces good fruit?
Don’t shame the roots.
Get curious about them.
You are allowed to tend them differently now. 🌱
We arrive with roots. But we still get to choose what we grow.
