How I Kicked Perfection to the Curb



There was a time when I believed strong leadership meant keeping every crack hidden. I pushed through exhaustion, performed strength, and carried more than my soul could hold because I thought perfection was the price of being taken seriously.

But perfection was costing me clarity, courage, and peace.

The shift happened when I finally told the truth—to myself. I admitted I was tired. I admitted I was stretched thin. And that honesty opened the door to restoration.

Kicking perfection to the curb didn’t make me weaker. It made me rooted.

Today, I lead from reflection, rhythm, and identity—not performance. And now I’m helping others step into that same kind of restorative leadership.

Come Out, Come Out, Whoever You Are!

As I stand here, reintroducing myself to all of you, I’m reminded of the power of showing up—truly showing up—as our authentic selves. It’s not just about being present; it’s about being fiercely present.

In my journey, I’ve learned that authenticity isn’t a passive state; it’s an active pursuit. It’s a commitment to being genuine, not just when it’s convenient, but especially when it’s not. It’s about embracing who we are, flaws and all, and presenting that self to the world without hesitation.

I’ve faced my share of challenges, but each one has been a stepping stone, shaping me into the leader I am today. My personal values have not only guided me but have also demanded that I stand up, speak out, and be counted.
