It might actually be.. ☀️🌈🤗❤️

I always loved the piano! And to be clear, I had wonderful teachers. 🤗 They taught me so much, and my last teacher even asked what I wanted to learn.

The funny thing is… I didn’t really know.

By that point, I was so focused on becoming a better musician that I kept choosing pieces based on what would improve my weaknesses, expand my skills, and make me a more well-rounded teacher someday.

I spent a lot of years playing for the benefit of my education, but very little for the enjoyment of playing. 💔

Looking back, I honestly don’t know how I made it 13 years before I started learning music I was genuinely excited about. 😂

It wasn’t until I had a piano studio of my own that I started asking a different question:

What if students could learn all the important concepts through music they actually love?

Not every student wants to perform, compete, major in music, or become a piano teacher.

Some just want to sit down after a long day and play their favorite songs.

I’m all for doing hard things, working through challenges, and becoming a better musician. But I also believe students should love the music they’re learning and enjoy the process along the way. 🎹✨

Can you even call yourself a piano teacher if you’ve never taught Hedwig’s Theme or Defying Gravity? 😂🎹

These songs are basically a rite of passage at this point. ✨⚡️🪄 I never get tired of hearing them come from different students. 💛

The first and last poems from my sister’s book “Hope Gives a Eulogy.” ✨

She starts with the idea of a wintered soul, and then you travel through a rollercoaster of emotions and hardships.. but by the end, it finally feels like spring.

Even if it took decades to get there. Breathe. You made it. ❤️‍🩹
