Our Philosophy

At Sunrise Montessori, we provide opportunities for children to experience awe in learning, friendship, leadership, and compassion. Our Sunrise Montessori toddler class is so much more than daycare. We focus on establishing routines that help set a strong foundation for your little ones.

Activities promote independence, coordination, and concentration. But the children are also learning important social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Activities are always based on the child’s individual capacity.

Founded by Marta Garcia, Sunrise Montessori has been serving families in Bountiful and Layton since 1993 and 1999, respectively.

At age 21, Marta graduated from college in El Salvador with a teaching degree. It was there she was introduced to Montessori-style instruction.

Shortly after graduating, she moved to the United States and opened the Sunrise Montessori schools in Utah. Today, she continues her 40-year impact.

"My son has been going here for over a year, I love it. The teachers are wonderful and caring. It is obvious that my child matters to them.

The facility itself is not fancy but it is clean and safe. They have structured class time during the school year and a schedule of fun rotating activities during the summer like park and water days.

They have also been flexible with my schedule, allowing me to bring my kiddo in on different days as my needs have changed, even at relatively short notice. It is nice to work with such a flexible staff.

Other facilities may look fancier, but you would be hard pressed to find a place that cares as much and treats the kids as well as Sunrise.
