Last call!!!
Summer Shakespeare in the Park 2024 - THE TEMPEST
JUNE 17th - 28th
Ages 8-12
---------------
In this camp we will be exploring theater through THE TEMPEST- an exciting tale involving shipwrecks, a magical island, revenge, and lots of memorable characters. The script is a mix of modern English and original Shakespeare, and provides a fantastic place for kids to experiment with acting and storytelling!
Each day will be a fun mix of intensive rehearsal time and breaks to explore, socialize, and learn. Outside of preparing our performance for an audience, some of the activities will include:
- Acting games
- Improvisation with props & costumes
- Teamwork exercises
- Playtime at the park
- And a small treat every day!
One reason so many kids end up loving and benefiting from theater is because it teaches them life-long valuable skills- such as:
Confidence, Creativity, Playfulness, and Collaboration.
We continued this camp this year because we wanted to give this age group an opportunity to really dive into theater and acting- something that can be really hard to find at this age.
I’ve been so so impressed by the kids that we’ve had in this camp before! (They are the real reason we wanted to make this happen again!) Their enthusiasm and creativity is amazing, and I feel so lucky that so many of them are coming back this year. :)
This camp will get kids storytelling, being loud and confident onstage, and sharing their unique kind of magic with audiences and friends. It’s also just a great way to make new friends and have some fun this summer!
