Our juniors suited up in PPE to practice standard precautions and some safe patient transfers.

Protecting yourself, your patients and moving them safely is all part of the job.

This class is on the way to being clinical ready!!

Class 39 has been putting in some serious work the last few weeks tackling headwork! So, we balanced out all that studying with a little fun during our Annual Coconut Experiment!

After giving their coconuts a little personality, students put them to work exploring air-fluid levels and seeing firsthand how patient positioning and CR angulation can change their radiographic appearance.

Meanwhile, Class 39 is weeks deep into head work and apparently no longer requires our supervision.

That side-eye says it all…

“We got this. You can stop hovering now.”

And honestly—they kind of do.

After weeks of practicing skull and facial bone positioning, these second-years are becoming more confident in setting up their equipment, positioning their patient, and working through projections on their own.

One of our favorite parts of teaching is watching that transition happen—from students looking to us for every next step to trusting what they know and just doing it.

Class 39 is looking more and more like a group of future radiographers.

Last week, Class 40 busted out one of radiography’s more… medieval-looking pieces of equipment.

Meet the Pigg-O-Stat!

Don’t let its appearance fool you—the Pigg-O-Stat is designed to safely immobilize pediatric patients during certain X-ray exams, helping reduce motion and the need for repeat images.

Our first-year students practiced positioning our very cooperative (and unusually patient ) baby doll while learning how proper immobilization can help us get the image we need quickly, safely, and with as little radiation exposure as possible.

Another skill added to Class 40’s radiography toolbox!

We are proud to celebrate an exciting milestone in heart care! Our cardiovascular team at Memorial Health has successfully completed the region's first Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure!

TAVR is a minimally invasive procedure that replaces a diseased aortic valve without traditional open-heart surgery.

Congratulations to the incredible team whose training, preparation, and collaboration made this milestone possible!

Advanced heart care is now closer to home. ❤️
