since 1999, Leonard encourages each individual to know the law and how to safely and effectively use a firearm with speed and accuracy to protect yourself and loved ones. Leonard has been active in the Security and Executive Protection field in various capacities since 2005 throughout the state of Texas. His experience started as part of a 6-8 person security team responsible for the protection of a nationally known, mega church pastor and family, all major church events, and all visiting VIPs. His duties have included serving as a one man protection detail and as Team Leader of protection details as large as 115 agents for high profile clients, celebrities, and major events. Leonard has been involved in fi****ms training as a weapons and tactics instructor since 1999. He is a competitive shooter with the United States Carbine Association, the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) Expert rating in the Stock Service Pistol Division and is a former IDPA Safety Officer Instructor for over 20 years plus. His martial arts background includes the study of Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing, edged weapons and earned his Black Belt in Close Quarters combatives from New World Combat. Leonard is fully commissioned by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau as a level 4 Personal Protection Officer and is fully licensed by the Oklahoma C.L.E.E.T as an Armed Security Guard, Certified Oklahoma SDA Instructor, USCCA Fi****ms Instructor, USCCA Range Safety Officer and NRA Handgun Instructor. Leonard has trained with some of the greatest instructors in the Nation in fi****ms, empty hands, edged weapons and close quarters combat. His instructing style is non-aggressive and more about the student learning proper techniques and skills needed to defend themselves and loved ones. He developed some great friendship with many in the fi****ms instructing business and field/tactical medicine training. His greatest lesson learned is to be a great instructor you must first be a great student. You never quit learning, no matter how good you think you are. Leonard’s goal is to provide quality handgun training and defensive education to those who are willing and ready to learn. In the near future, the plan is to bring in some of those great instructors, his friends and mentors, to share their knowledge and skills with individuals who believe in the right to protect themselves and their loved ones.
