The Kindergartners did a fun experiment in science this week. They combined two states of matter, baking soda (solid) and vinegar (liquid), to produce a third state of matter, carbon dioxide (gas). Students also measured the temperature of the liquid before and after the experiment. They were able to observe an endothermic reaction as the temperature of the liquid dropped 10 degrees. Great observation, kindergartners!

In the 2nd grade, the girls had a fun time engineering Ferris wheels! Check out their awesome creations.

The volleyball season will be wrapping up in the next few weeks. This Thursday is our final home game. It will also serve as our homecoming game. We will be recognizing our senior volleyball players and celebrating a strong season from both of our teams. We would love to fill the stands with fans for our homecoming game. We are doing a neon theme in the stands, so please wear bright colors. There will be a student bus leaving from the school for 7th-12th grade students. The games start at 4:30 at the LRC. See you there!

Yesterday, many members of our secondary robotics team traveled to NWOSU in Alva to learn about this year’s game challenge, “Byte to Bite.”They learned a lot and are very excited to tackle this year’s challenge. The team will return to Alva in November to compete against teams from all over the state. Wish them luck!

Our 1st & 2nd grade science classes had a sweet time learning about States of Matter yesterday. They explored solids, liquids & gases with root beer floats. Yum!

The Kindergarten class also explored tastes while learning about the five senses. They tasted brown sugar, pink salt, pure cocoa, and sour salt. How fun!

We had such a fun time at Hebocon last night! Shout out to all of the amazing robot entries. We had over 20 very creative robots entered. Congratulations to our top two winners X-man Xander and Crane Dog.
