Senior Awards Night was last night.
I decided to give an award to an outstanding, hard working, and talented senior. The only problem was I had too many quality seniors to choose from. They all have done great things the last 2-3 years.
One stood out by a slim margin. Congratulations to Riley Lucas on earning this award. Riley plans on entering the workforce, working for his dad and grandfather in their family concrete business.
Best of luck to Riley and all of the seniors in their future endeavors!

For those that didn't know we have started a Home Improvement Class. In this class students learn about some of the maintenance and repairs that they might encounter around the house and the garage.
The project we are working on now is repairing a trailer. So far the students have learned how to replace wheel studs, repack/replace wheel bearings, reassemble a hub, and torque wheels.

7th grade quarter 2 project. Students made their own golf tee game (like at Cracker Barrel).
Students learned about measuring and drafting. After some practice drawings the students drew a template that they could follow. Then the students studied workshop safety. Next the students applied what they learned.
The students made their game piece using the band saw, drill press, and a stationary sander. The students sanded their game piece by hand, applied a coat of stain and a couple quick coats of varnish.
Great job!
