Lawrence Academy of Arts & Humanities The “extras” in our academy are unmatched. Our Promising Teachers of Tomorrow program offers education classes, field experiences, and college credit.

The Academy of Arts and Humanities provides a wide variety of opportunities for students to reach their full potential through creativity and critical thinking – from commercial art and television production to law studies to theatrical and musical performance. Students take core courses rooted in academic excellence to prepare them for college and, at the same time, for enrichment explore the man

y exciting electives and experiences in the arts and humanities. Our award-winning music program brings renown talent and instruction via fun and purposeful venues including recently the likes of The Mark Wood Experience and rock-violinist, Bobby Yang. And our school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition has brought out the very best in our student body, demonstrating their phenomenal communications skills, confidence, and creativity. These are just a few of the ways the Academy of Arts and Humanities opens the door for students to push their creative limits and to imagine the possibilities.The Academy of Arts and Humanities will host artists-in-residence in creative writing, dance, music, and fine arts to allow students the opportunity for exploration of the impact of artists, writers, and musicians of the 1920s, including those of the Harlem Renaissance, on American culture and values. These experiences will blend with our curriculum and will culminate in a celebratory event showcasing our student’s hard work as well as our Poetry Out Loud competition.

All the Academies will be joining together this Saturday at Applebee's to serve customers and raise money for a good cause! We would love if you were able to come out and join us! Breakfast is $10 for adults and $5 for children/students and the pancakes are UNLIMITED!

MODEL CONGRESS! Please resolve any conflicts between model congress and theater as it is not humanly possible to do both (unless of course you have perfected your bill on cloning). Arts and Humanities is collecting food for the needy and we would truly appreciate it if you found it within yourself this holiday season to donate food to our cause. We will be collecting in Mr. Wolf's room (210)

Things to Donate:
1. 10-14 lbs. Turkey Certificate
2. Gravy
3. Vegetable (canned or fresh)
4. Yams (canned or fresh)
5. Juices
6. Apples
7. Oranges
8. Cornbread
9. 10" Pies (Apple, Pumpkin, Sweat Potato, etc.)
10. Aluminum pans
11. Cranberry Sauce
12. Stuffing
13. Boxed Mashed Potatoes
14. Macaroni and Cheese

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

On November 4th during 5th period, Donna Carcaci Rhodes will be attending Lawrence High School! Ms. Rhodes is experienced in curatorial management of art collections, research, archives, exhibit development and historic site conservation. She has worked with education program design, art scholarship juries, museum tour design and docent training.

THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE ART WORLD!

She will be able to provide great insight as well as educate students about possible internships and scholarships.
