We'd like to congratulate D'Andre Wright, a Secondary Education and English Literature student here at Rider, who has received a sponsorship to attend the upcoming Black Men in Education Convening (BMEC) conference this November!

D'Andre is completing a fellowship with the Future Teachers of Excellence, in partnership with the Center for Black Educator Development (CBED). The upcoming conference provides an excellent opportunity for current and future educators, particularly Black male educators, to network, gain professional development, and to hear from keynote speakers.

D'Andre shares, “As the Black Men in Education Convening (BMEC) approaches, I look forward to learning new strategies and approaches that I can integrate into my teaching as a future Black male educator, particularly in enhancing the support provided to all students. Given that this is my final year, I am thrilled to connect and network with current Black educators, administrators, and other professionals.”

We hope you enjoy the conference, D'Andre!

The new school year is underway, and our Rider University student teachers are out in their schools and classrooms!

Pictured here is Annaleise Grimm, an Elementary Education major who is student teaching in a kindergarten classroom this fall in the Hopewell Valley Regional School District. Here she was greeting new students and families on the first day of school, last week. Then, last night, she participated in the school's Back to School Night!

Welcome back, Broncs! The Fall 2026 semester is underway, and we are so glad you are here! Welcome to our new Broncs as well!

This past summer, the former College of Education and Human Services merged with the former College of Arts and Sciences to form the new College of Humanities, Sciences and Education (CHSE).

The renamed School of Education and Human Services (SEHS) is housed within the larger CHSE--but what we do and what we provide has not changed. The Department of Teacher Education (DOTE) is still in Bierenbaum Fisher Hall, Suite 102. The Department of Graduate Education, Leadership and Counseling (GELC) is still in Bierenbaum Fisher Hall, Suite 202. The Office of Field Placement and State Certification remains in Bierenbaum Fisher Hall, Suite 116.

What has moved is the Dean's Office. Please find the new Dean's Office in Lynch Adler Hall, Suite 100. Please also note the new Dean's Office email address: [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you on campus! Go Broncs!

This past Monday, the annual New Jersey Distinguished Clinical Intern and Cooperating Teachers Award Ceremony was held. Since 1985, this ceremony has been jointly presented by the New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Association of Colleges for Teacher Education to recognize the year’s fifteen top graduates of educator preparation programs in New Jersey’s colleges and universities.

Rider University was proud to have three students in attendance:

Kevin Catalon (Music Ed), who received the additional 'with distinction' recognition, along with his cooperating teacher Adam Good (East Brunswick HS).

Erin Mattingly (Elem Ed and Special Ed), and her cooperating teacher Chris Barbieri (Millstone River - WW-P).

Mitchell Meyer (Secondary Social Studies) and his cooperating teacher Brian Mueller (Fisher MS - Ewing).

We congratulate all of our students, and thank all of their cooperating teachers, along with their faculty and staff who supported the nomination process and who attended the event!
