Congratulations to Cole McClure, a senior at Maxwell High School of Technology, who has been selected as one of only six Georgia students to be recognized by NAPA on SkillsUSA National Signing Day, a nationwide celebration of students committing to careers in the skilled trades.
Cole McClure is a standout in our Automotive Service/Work Based Learning program and is preparing to continue his education at McPherson College, where he will study Automotive Restoration. As part of the recognition, Cole joined five fellow Georgia students, selected through SkillsUSA Georgia, at Truist Park to officially sign his letter of intent to enter the skilled trades. Cole received a Carlyle toolbox set to help launch his career. Cole also received a $2,500 NAPA scholarship to support his post-secondary education. The evening also included celebratory activities with his family and friends and special box seats at the Braves game.
By empowering the next generation of skilled professionals and career-ready leaders, SkillsUSA and NAPA are closing the skills gap while highlighting the amazing opportunities that exist in fulfilling, lucrative and in-demand skilled careers.
This recognition is part of an ongoing NAPA investment in the future of the automotive aftermarket workforce, from scholarships to hands-on career development.
“At NAPA, we’re proud to support the next generation of skilled trades professionals and the bright futures they’re building,” said Cassie Bell, NAPA SVP of People. “Students like Cole are choosing career paths that help keep our communities running strong, and we’re honored to celebrate them as they take this important next step.”

Recently, Hayes Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM had the honor to work alongside the ASE and I-CAR in the annual Maxwell Technical High School career fair. Maxwell Technical High School is a high school that focuses on providing students with the tools they need to take on exciting career opportunities. Their collision repair career fair kicked off on March 25, 2026 and their mechanical career fair on April 16th, 2026. These days, students talk to many vendors - learning the ins and outs of the collision repair and mechanical industries, led by amazing faculty. They even had the opportunity to find local jobs in their area. Thank you to the collision repair instructors: Paul Kable (10 years) and Fernando De La Cruz (3 years) and the mechanical instructors: Max Chavez (15 years), Ervin Cruz (8 years) and Jose Angel (1 year)! We’re so grateful for your continued dedication to teaching the next generation! 101 students came to the collision repair career fair and 146 students showed up to the mechanical career fair.
Both school programs use the ASE standards and I-CAR curriculum to teach the students. ASE, also known as The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, provides nationally recognized certification for technicians in the automotive industry and accreditation for training programs. I-CAR, also known as the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, works to train collision repair technicians to ensure industry quality work. CREF, also known as the Collision Repair Education Foundation, is an educational division of I-CAR and handles the career fairs, provides awards and scholarships for students and gives grants to local schools. Learn more about CREF at collisionrepaireducationfoundation.com.
Hayes believes in both institutes so much that they have them in their service department and collision center at a professional level. Ted Hayes serves on both the ASE board and I-CAR advisory committee at the national level and has been involved for more than 30 years. We encourage all customers to visit the consumer side websites of ASE and I-CAR. ASE: https://www.ase.com/production. I-CAR: https://info.i-car.com/gold-class.
A special shoutout to Mrs. Belinda Delvasto, Instructor of the culinary department, for assembling her students to prepare our lunches! We’re so grateful for all the hard work put in to serve us!
