Tears, cheers, and so much school pride! This week we held our traditional 5th Grade Celebration, Walk, and Promotion and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. 🥹✨

It was an incredibly special time as we officially said "see you later" to our amazing 5th graders as they prepare to take on middle school. But the celebrations didn't stop there! We were also deeply honored to welcome back our previous Black Knights—now recent high school—alongside some of our very own newly graduated staff members! Seeing our past, present, and future generations walking side-by-side together was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so special.

To our promoting 5th graders: We are so proud of the leaders, thinkers, and kind human beings you have become. As you step into this next chapter, carry your Black Knight pride with you. We know you are going to do big, beautiful things in middle school and beyond! 🚀🌟

We will miss you all! But as we all say:
Once a Black Knight, always a Black Knight! 🏰⚔️
You always have a home here at Winn Holt!

☀️ HAVE A FANTASTIC SUMMER! ☀️
As this unforgettable school year comes to a close, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our incredible students, dedicated teachers, and supportive families. We couldn't do this without you.

A massive CONGRATULATIONS and thank you to our incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive families for making this semester such a resounding success. You all made these performances unforgettable!

Here is a look back at our last two spectacular spring showcases:
🎵 Spring Concert (May 7th)
The Winn Holt Chorus and Winn Holt Instrument Ensemble kicked off May by filling the air with beautiful music. Our young musicians blew us away with their talent and dedication!

⛺ "Summer Camp Playbill: Camp Run-A-Muk" (May 13th)
The Winn Holt Drama Club brought the house down in the cafeteria with their hilarious and energetic performance of the hit show by John Jacobson and Mac Huff. The perfect way to get us all ready for summer!

📚 Black Knights, we need your help! Please return ALL library books by tomorrow, May 8th
It’s almost time to close the chapter on another great school year! To help our library get ready for a new school year, please note these important dates:
📌 MAY 8th: All library books are DUE
📌 MAY 11th: Unreturned books will be marked "Lost" and replacement fees will be applied to student accounts

We’d much rather have the BOOK than the fee! 📖✨
Help your student hunt for any "hidden treasures" in backpacks or under beds so we can keep our collection ready for the next school year.

Let's finish the year strong, Winn Holt! ⚔️💛🖤

📅GCPS Parent Mentors Session: Thursday, May 7th (2 Session Options Available; in-person or virtual)
GWINNETT COUNTY PARENT MENTORS PRESENT:
For All Families of Students Receiving Special Education Services in Gwinnett County Public Schools

Topic: “Self-Determination and Supported Decision Making – What are they, Why are they Important, and How can I Support my Child?”

Just like strong roots prepare a tree to grow tall and resilient; strong decision-making skills prepare individuals with disabilities to thrive beyond school. This session will explore how Supported Decision-Making (SDM) can help individuals practice making choices, take increasing ownership of their lives, and build the confidence needed for successful post-school outcomes. Embedding SDM into everyday living provides our loved ones the ability to navigate life after high school with purpose and confidence. This session will provide practical tools, strategies, and resources that families can use to nurture decision-making skills over time and is highly recommended for families of students at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school).
