The Tent Tuesday Tradition 🍎

Today, we spent a full •7 HOURS• outside together.

We ran and climbed and sang and danced. We played and laughed and learned. We made the kind of memories every childhood deserves.

We worked hard, but we prioritized play.

We never sat down at a desk.

We connected with our students— on ground level. We worked collaboratively and creatively to build structures that could provide shade, and along the way, we were reminded of the importance of a strong foundation.

Today was meaningful, exhausting, joyful learning at its very best. We are all Tent Tuesday TIRED… but it was the very best kind of school day.

Our 5th & 6th grade students are getting a firsthand look at the working world through job shadowing experiences in our community!

James recently had the opportunity to shadow Walmart Manager, Bill Thrasher, to learn more about leadership, customer service, teamwork, and the day-to-day operations that keep a business running smoothly. Experiences like these help students build confidence, communication skills, and real-world understanding as they begin exploring future career paths.

A huge thank you to Mr. Thrasher for investing his time and supporting James on this experiential learning journey. We are so grateful for community leaders who help inspire and encourage the next generation!

When we made the decision to house Preschool–8th grade under one roof, this is exactly what we envisioned: a sixth grader using his free time to teach his Kindergarten friends how to play basketball.

These are the moments that make a school community so special—older students leading with patience and kindness, and younger students looking up to role models right down the hall!

Our first fire circle was led by a few of our upper school students this morning. The focus? Reflection and community building.

Through highs and lows, hard work, and meaningful conversations, these students have grown and evolved—not just as learners, but as human beings. Today, they took time to share their favorite memories from this school year, along with their goals and vision for the year ahead.

The overall consensus from these nature-based kids? Of course—more time spent learning outdoors!

This is the school they’ve built.
