We have been informed of the extremely sad news that a student at Anderson County High School died overnight. Our school community is deeply saddened by the passing of one of our students.There is nothing easy about losing a student, and there are no words that can express how heartbroken we feel to have to make such an announcement. To the student’s family, loved ones, friends, and classmates, know that the entire community is grieving with you. Our heavy hearts are filled with prayers for everyone impacted; when a tragic event like this affects one of us, it affects us all. Teachers at the high school were notified about the situation to monitor students, and grief counseling is available to students and staff to support them in their navigation of the grieving process and to support their ongoing mental health. We will not be providing further information as we continue to respect the privacy of the family to give them time to grieve as well.

Important Information:

ACT (for 11th graders): March 8th and 9th- APEX will be sending out reminders on what day your child needs to attend. Please make sure your child is at APEX no later than 8:15 and have your child bring their Chromebook.

PSAT (ALL 7th & 8th graders): March 22nd. APEX will be sending out reminders about this. Please make sure your child is at APEX no later than 8:00. This is a paper/ pencil test and your child will not need their Chromebook.

PROM:
Participating in school events like dances are a privilege that a student gets to partake in by being in good behavioral and academic standing in school.
*Academic Good Standing:
-In order to purchase a prom ticket for 11th and 12th grade students you must be in good academic standing for Apex.
-Student must have enough credits to be considered a true Junior or a true Senior.
-Not failing more than one class
Note: In Apex, we only put in midterm and final grades in IC so we track passing by overdue assignments.Therefore, if you have 20 or more overdue assignments for your classes (all classes combined) then you are ineligible to buy a ticket.

Graduation:
ACBOE approved for this year’s graduation to be held at ACHS on the football field Thursday, May 26, 6:00 pm. Each graduating senior will receive 8 tickets.

There are rain-out options, which include two additional outdoor dates on the 27th and 28th at 6:00 pm, as well as a backup indoor rain option of the ACHS gym with reduced seating capacity (ticket reduction).

ACSchools will be on NTI (Virtual) schedule Tuesday, January 18, 2022, due to inclement weather and cold temperatures. We will utilize an 8am - 3pm schedule. Please contact your school if you need assistance.
