Peaslee Tech will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, equality, and the ongoing pursuit of opportunity for all.

Please join us in celebrating this important day and honoring its history.

Peaslee Tech will resume normal business hours Monday, June 22.

We had such a great time hosting this wonderful group for a tour of Peaslee Tech earlier this week! Like many others who make their first visit to our campus, these special guests were surprised to learn about how we've grown and expanded our career and technical training programs, not to mention our various applied research projects and partnerships. We’re proud to celebrate Anesha as the recipient of the Altrusa Memorial Scholarship, generously awarded by our valued community partners, Altrusa International of Lawrence.

As an electrician apprentice with Lynn Electric, Anesha is building the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed for a successful career in the skilled trades. Scholarships like this help remove financial barriers so apprentices can stay focused on completing their training and preparing for in-demand careers that strengthen our community.

For more than a century, Altrusa International has brought people together through community service, leadership development, and literacy initiatives, supporting educational opportunities and helping individuals achieve their goals.

We love seeing our students succeed — and even more, seeing them come back to inspire the next generation.

Court Reporter (Voice) program graduate, John Cardaronella, recently returned to Peaslee Tech for a visit and tour, and we were thrilled to welcome him back! After completing the program, John earned his certification with the support and encouragement of Court Reporter instructor Miranda Cohen, who played a key role in helping him achieve his goals.

Today, John serves as a Court Reporter for Douglas County in the 7th Judicial District of Kansas — an incredible accomplishment we’re proud to celebrate!

John’s positive experience at Peaslee Tech inspired him to give back by making a donation to the Peaslee Promise Campaign, helping future students access life-changing career training opportunities.

Thank you, John, for your generosity, your support, and for showing what’s possible through hard work and determination. Your Peaslee Pride shines bright! 💛💚

In observance of Memorial Day, Peaslee Tech will be closed on Monday, May 25, as we honor and remember the courageous souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Incredible things happen when innovation, workforce training, and community partners come together 🏠🔨

We’re proud to partner with Amarr and Tenants to Homeowners on a unique project utilizing garage doors in a different way to build affordable homes for our community. Built by Peaslee Tech students, these one-of-a-kind homes will soon be relocated to North Lawrence, providing high-quality, energy-efficient housing for local residents.

This partnership is more than construction — it’s hands-on learning for students, creative problem-solving for affordable housing, and a powerful example of what can happen when local organizations work together to make a difference.
