Well, hello all! Since I've been receiving texts and emails about working, I thought I ought to leave a post about my status.. I'm "retired"! Which is to say: I travel fulltime and am not in the Lawrence, KS area anymore. I still work on some projects but my main profession now is keeping us on the road with our house and house puller (truck and fifth wheel camper). If you've found this page, Thank you! However, I am most likely unable to help with your project. Best wishes to you in finding someone. This is a good place to start: https://www2.ljworld.com/bestoflawrence/
There is no contact info listed, but a simple search will get you connected.
Cheers, everyone!

There's usually a hard way to do something, and an easy way.... then, there's the hard, easy way. (which in my experience takes a little bit longer, but doesn't break as much stuff!) When removing a basketball goal post, dig around the base to make sure the concrete is not tied to the driveway with rebar! This saves a lot of costly (and embarrassing) repairs in the near future! 😬

It's stormy rainy season. Get your gutters cleaned! (Your basement and pocketbook might thank you later!!!!) And if you've got stuff like this on your roof, don't let natural processes remove it. Mother nature will take 57 to 124 years to completely decompose a branch...

Just a couple of upgrades to a house. New hall lights and a barn door to a closet. Nice touches to enhance an already beautiful home!

This was a fun project for a retired meathead like me. Adam (current meathead) and I installed this gym rack in an exercise room. We insulated, sheetrocked and sealed the wall, then installed the rack. We had to take several breaks to make sure it worked... 😉

Congratulations to Ken Hite and Kindred CPA! At the grand opening, I gave him a little gift and he willingly put it on! Where's mine, Ken?! 😆

Mrs The Hot Handyman and I decided to buy a little investment property. We've been fixing it up and when Adam started working with me, he promptly said, "I want it"! So, we've been fixing it up and getting it ready for him! I have other photos that I'll upload to this album, but if you'd like to track our progress, here you go...

Dr Susan is a fantastic Lady! Totally smart, sassy, no-nonsense and a lover of animals!! She's turned her home into "Happy Hollow", (refuge for some of LFK's ugliest critters) She feeds the opossums, watches the squirrels, doesn't badger the birds and has the best rat-hunting mama cat that any farmer would die for!! (she regularly receives 'presents' from Mama-cat on her deck!) Here's her new plasma cut Happy Hollow sign mounted on the Garage Mahal next to her new trellis. Cheers, Doc!!

This was supposed to be a "simple window replacement". Albeit, the windows were the same size as a Mack truck....when we removed this one, we discovered that a leak had completely disintegrated the wall beneath. We eventually dug it all out, replaced it all with new lumber and installed the new Mack truck, er, window... A word to the wise: look over your house regularly (or call me and I'll do it) and repair holes and seams that need fixing. Your walls and basement will thank you!

Cedar is nice, but still requires maintenance. Now that 'cedar-toned' treated lumber is available, you can get the look of cedar with a more durable product. ...still requires maintenance, though. "Don't negleckt your deckt!"

If your fence looks ratty, consider a new vinyl replacement. When installed properly (with concrete filled posts) this is a "one-time" solution with lifetime benefits! Filling the posts with concrete is more time consuming, but longer lasting!

One of my favorite things to do is install solar tubes in people's homes! Just adding this little feature can transform a room or hallway into a completely different space.
