Lawrence Brain Injury Support Group

It has been a long time since anyone has posted. Since the pandemic began this group has not met. If this group is to start again, it will need new leaders. In the meantime there is a virtual support group on the third Wednesday of every month at 4:00 pm. NeuroRestorative now has an office in Lawrence and runs this support group. I encourage everyone who lives with brain injury to check out this group.

I do hope everyone has been spared from Covid! Please let us know how you are doing physically, emotionally during this lengthy time since all this started. Would you like to plan an open air gathering? We were meeting on Saturday morning before Covid struck. We could share coffee and donuts some Saturday mid morning soon. Important update! We are changing our meeting start time to 6:00 pm and we will end by 7:30. We will still meet at Lawrence First Church of the Nazarene on the 2nd Friday of every month. LFC is located at 1470 N 1000 Rd just south of Lawrence.

This Friday, August 9, Lindsey Detten Murphy, OT, will share techniques to deal with sensory challenges common in those with brain injury such as sensitivity to sounds, crowds and smells. Bring a friend, come join in and make new friends that get it!!

I will be sharing about a graduate of Lawrence Free State HS and former student of mine who is an artist, writer and wine maker on the west coast. Come hear what he has to say to all of us.
