We're at Almost Alumni and bumped into these winners of the Jayhawks Choice Awards organization of the year! Congratulations, University of Kansas Nu Rho Psi Neuroscience Honors Society

oSTEM is again hosting QueerX Talks. This event is similar in structure to TedX talks in which a speaker from the community gives a presentation about a topic. We have topics ranging from n**e modeling with gender dysphoria, implicit bias during hiring procedures, and even combining science fiction with feminist studies on how to build a transgender android. These and other topics combine speakers' research interests with an analysis of LGBTQ+ issues.

We encourage attending QueerX because it addresses how conducting research can interact with identity, as well as how scientific advances are shaped by privilege.

This event will take place from 6-8PM on Tuesday, April 18th in the Spahr Engineering Classroom. We encourage our members to attend this event in place of our cancelled mini-symposium. (We will give you 2 points for attending.)

If you are looking for volunteering opportunities on campus, you can volunteer with Nu Rho Psi and Alternative Breaks at the ECM (between Smith Hall and the Oread).

We need volunteers to help prepare and serve next week's vegan lunch as well as volunteers at the ECM vegan Passover Seder. If you are interested, you can sign up for time slots on this google doc. Dates and times are in the doc!
