To our students, faculty, researchers, collaborators, clients, and friends, we wish you a New Year filled with peace, happiness, joy, and good health! 2022 was an exciting year for the Center: We significantly expanded our research and intervention development capabilities, participated in key projects focused on disease prevention for underserved populations, and published studies that have received national and international media coverage. We are eager to continue this trend in 2023! We have already planned research looking at future media delivery platforms and how they can be efficiently used to promote health. Consistent with our mission, we will continue working with underserved populations in the United States and abroad. To all of you following us on social media, thank you for your support!

Dr. Mugur Geana (CEHCUP) and Dr. Megha Ramaswamy (KUMC) received a $2.5 million grant from the NIH to further develop and test an online education program to promote COVID-19 testing and vaccination to women leaving jails. The project will also help research how to adapt this easily to deploy, scalable, and evidence-based online intervention, developed at CEHCUP, to reach other underserved populations. Many thanks to all who participated and shared our survey. We have succesfully completed the last phase of our research on knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and sources of information about COVID-19. The six months study aims at exploing how these changed as we progressed from an initial acceleration phase to today's "normality." In the coming weeks we will post here some of our findings, as we conduct our analysis.
This was a very challenging year for most of us. The more we know and understand about the multiple social and human impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the better we are prepared to recover and resume our normal lives. Please take 15 minutes to complete our phase 3 survey on COVID-19 attitudes, beliefs and information sources. This is an ANONYMOUS survey, no personal data is collected. Your answers are very valuable and important to us, and we respect all your attitudes and beliefs. There are no right or wrong answers. This is a research project with no political affiliation and it is not funded externally.
Thank you for your support of this research project!
