✨SENIOR SPOTLIGHT✨
Hi! My name is Gianna Monsini and I have been dancing at JDA for 13 years. Next year I will be attending Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics to become an esthetician.
Picking a favorite dance Ive been in is incredibly hard because every dance Ive ever been in has a special place in my heart. If I had to choose, Id say my favorite dance I have done is Can Can, which was my senior jazz routine from my freshman year. The vibe and energy of this dance was just through the roof and I truly had the best time onstage with my best friends the whole dance.
My favorite memory from dance has to be last year’s nationals at Hershey Park! I had so much fun competing with last year’s seniors for the last time. We also got to spend some time walking around Hershey Park and going on so many rides together on our off days when we didn’t have to compete.
If I had any advice for younger dancers, it would be to never ever give up and to always try your hardest even when you’re feeling discouraged. Throughout my years dancing, I have beaten myself down for working so hard on new skills and not achieving them. I always tried to beat that feeling, keep my head up, not feel discouraged, and keep on trying my very best. I learned that the feeling I get of finally achieving that skill Ive been working on is so worth all of the time, effort, and energy I put into it.
I would describe the feeling I have going into this year’s recital as bittersweet. I am feeling so many emotions counting down the days until my last recital ever, and my last time taking the stage with my best friends. It is going to be so hard having to leave a place I am proud to call my second home, this studio and these girls will forever be in my heart. From conditioning together, crying together, laughing together, everyone watching me fall flat on my face in acro every single week together, and most importantly dancing our hearts out together. I cant thank Just Dance Academy enough for truly shaping who I am today🤍
