All 65 KUnited Candidates have filed with the Elections Commission! Your Ideas. Your Vision. Our Mission! KUnited 2013! Vote April 10&11th
We're so excited to release our next two platform initiatives for the 2013 campaign! Your Ideas. Your Vision. Our Mission.
Hawks Helping Hawks
We believe that every student should have the ability to attend the University of Kansas without an extreme financial burden. KUnited will work to collaborate with the KU Endowment and KU Alumni Association to create a student-led fundraising campaign to benefit students. The funds raised would be awarded to students who have exhausted all other financial possibilities and meet certain academic and verification criteria.
Surveying Students to Identify New Initiatives
KUnited believes that many great ideas are generated by students throughout the year and their input is extremely important to us. That being said, we will utilize the summer months and the Student Survey Board to identify at least two more initiatives that will be released in the Fall, expanding platform generation to last throughout the year, instead of simply during the campaign months.
KUnited is a student coalition running for Student Senate which believes in diversity, both in demographics and opinions. We place a high a priority in representing the entire spectrum of student voices. We emphasize community service, student outreach and campus involvement among our members.

*New Aquatic Center at the Rec
KUnited is committed to providing the best health and fitness facilities and services to KU students. We will work with KU Recreation Services to begin the process of funding and building a new aquatic center as an expansion of the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center. This new center will significantly improve upon the facilities offered at the Robinson Center.
*Increased Free Printing On Campus
We believe that all students should have access to the resources essential to academic success. The ability to print whenever and wherever is invaluable in meeting deadlines and creating quality work. For that reason, we will work to increase student access to free printing across campus.
*Creating a Smoke-Free Campus
We will work with the university administration to restrict smoking on campus because we believe students should have the right to pure indoor and outdoor air. We will strive toward this enhancement by collaborating with Unfiltered, a to***co-free campus initiative, to spread awareness of the to***co products, establish a beneficial cessation service at Watkin’s Health Center, and restore the beauty of our University.
*Full-time LGBTQIA Coordinator
We believe that all students have a right to explore and express their identity in a meaningful and productive way. KUnited will secure funding to hire a full-time LGBTQIA coordinator to better serve the needs of the KU community. In doing so, we hope to create a more inclusive campus for Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual students.
