Pharmacy education goes beyond the classroom!
Over the summer, students from the KU School of Pharmacy participated in a rotation through the Kansas to Kenya (K2K) ministry. They partnered with local communities, including the University of Nairobi School of Pharmacy, to provide pharmacy education, patient care and service. These experiences provide our students with global perspectives on healthcare while strengthening relationships that make lasting impacts in both communities.

KU Pharm.D. candidate Joseph Parks just wrapped up a truly one‑of‑a‑kind APPE rotation at the Kansas State Veterinary Health Center.
From foals and cattle to diabetic house cats and even zoo animals, Joseph spent a month working alongside veterinarians and veterinary students to learn how pharmacy impacts animal health.
This unique rotation encourages a deeper appreciation for interprofessional care, and a new perspective on what pharmacists can do.
Joseph will graduate in May 2026 and begin a PGY1 residency in acute care at the University of Iowa.
